packing
Cookies, coffee
How soon do you usually pack your luggage before going on a trip? Most of the time, i do it one day or the night before unless it’s a place where i’m not sure what to wear and need to do a bit of a planning, and in this case, Brunei. i’m in the midst of packing for Thursday trip, two days in advamce. Not sure how strict the dress code for this islamic country would be... i’ve packed leggings (just in case i’m not supposed to show legs) and a big scarf to cover whatever part i need to cover.

full stomach and nightmare
Roti prata, chicken curry, strawberry and mango tea
i don’t usually sleep with a full stomach, but when i do, i always get nightmares! i was so tired today i took a nap right after my tea break and dreamt that i put my niece in a chilli powder bottle, then placed the bottle in a pail and carried (her) down the stairs cos it was flooding. Chilli powder bottle?! i got a shock half way through when i realised water has seeped in and couldn’t imagine what if the chilli got into her eyes. i quickly turned open the cap and asked if she was able to stand up and come out. And phew! She did and i woke up. What a moronic act!

trilogy
Lemon tart topped with meringue, camomile tea
Current reads: Fifty Shades (trilogy) by EL James
i bought this book totally out of curiosity – for those who doesn’t know, this book set the record as the fastest-selling paperback of all time, surpassing the Harry Potter. i’ve just finished the first book, and all i can say is, it’s... umm... very descriptive.

11th hour
Fried carrot cake, coffee
Earlier this week, i was telling a friend that i have 2 deadlines but just couldn’t get into the mood to work on them (i already have the idea but need to do the execution). She asked how do i usually get into the mood. And i replied: At the 11th hour, maybe?
Well, today is the ‘11th hour’... got to go!

edible seeds
Chinese steamed cake, unknown edible seeds, coffee
i bought these seeds from one of the roadside stalls while travelling in Mongolia. The locals eat them as snacks, munching away as they chat with friends, while waiting for public transport, before dinner is served etc. The shells cracked open easily with a bite, the inside meat is pale yellow wrapped in a thin layer of brown skin and has a slight tint of sweet and raw taste. Quite interesting to eat.
Update: These are actually pine nuts. Thanks Mabel!
